A 68-year-old man from Traverse City, Michigan won $25,000 a year for life from the Michigan Lottery's Lucky For Life game. He bought the winning ticket at Oleson's Food Store and chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000 instead of annual payments.
TRAVERSE CITY Mich. A Traverse City man is ready to live debt-free after taking home one of the Michigan Lottery's Lucky For Life top prizes. Craig Capell 68 bought his winning ticket at Oleson's Food Store in Traverse City. His ticket matched the five white balls in the Nov. 13 drawing03-09-16-20-42. Capell said he always plays Mega Millions and Lotto 47 and buys a Lucky For Life ticket on the days there aren't drawings for the other games. I was at the store and realized it was a Lucky For Life day so I bought my ticket. I was up early the next morning getting ready for a hunting trip and checked my ticket before I left he said. He had a hard time believing that he'd actually won. When I saw Id won 25 000 a year for life I couldnt believe it. I had my wife look the ticket over and she was a little skeptical so I looked online and saw a winner was sold at Olesons which is where I bought my ticket. Once I got home from my trip I called the Lottery to verify my ticket and thats when I knew it was real! Capell recently visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of 390 000 rather than payments of 25 000 a year for 20 years or life whichever is greater. He said he plans to invest take a vacation and pay off his debt with the winnings. Winning still feels pretty unreal but its a relief knowing we will be able to live debt free said Capell. Lucky For Life costs 2 per ticket. Players can win prizes from 3 up to their top prize of 1 000 a day for life.
