The Powerball jackpot has reached $1 billion for the second time this year, making it the 14th billion-dollar multi-state lottery jackpot in history. The most recent $1.787 billion Powerball win occurred on September 6, 2025, surpassing the previous record of $1.586 billion set in 2016. Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have now reached $1 billion a total of 14 times.
